Rushed, disorganised, and hectic, it began like any other morning. At six in the morning, my phone alarm rang furiously, pulling me out of bed. A stack of to-dos waiting for me, emails buzzing, and coffee boiling. I understood something had to change. That’s when I found digital gratitude journaling.
At first, I was doubtful. Could several strands of thought actually matter? Reluctantly, I launched the app and typed three items I appreciated. Initially, it seemed forced almost as though I were pulling words from nothing. But as time went on, something unexpected took place. My mood lighter, my ideas clearer. I started to value the small things like the sound of rain hitting my window or the warmth of my coffee cup.
Weeks went by, and every morning I needed it. The digital format allowed me to journal from anywhere—on the train, in a waiting room, or right before bed. My mornings turned into a sanctuary, a time to stop before the world grew noisy. I was beginning the day with purpose rather than just surviving it.
Would you suppose that such a little practice might change your perspective? A digital appreciation notebook made it happen for me. Get the paper copy here

Working as a mental health nurse is both gratifying and tough. There were days I would return home mentally exhausted, my mind racing with the tales of folks I had assisted. It was the emotional price, not alone the workload.
I required something to anchor me back to the now. I then looked at mindfulness tools. Initially, it was only a test—a breathing guide there, a meditation software here. But over time, it became a daily practice. Before each shift, I would spend 10 minutes concentrating on my breath, grounding myself for whatever the day had in store.
I began to notice the change. My responses quieter, my thoughts clearer. Though the days were hectic, I could still pause and breathe. Maintaining mental balance has become my silent partner; I have never looked back since.
